YEAR-END AWARDS REQUIREMENTS
GJHSA prides itself on providing
a generous year-end awards program for our members. Each division and each class in each division has sponsored awards
at the end of the season and all are presented to the winners at an annual banquet, usually held in early November.
GJHSA is a group club and runs on community effort. As such, the Association requires members who wish to be
eligible for our year-end awards program to volunteer two hours of time to help run one of four GJHSA shows (04/01/12, 06/23/12,
08/04/12, 09/09/12).
While two hours is not a large commitment, it is necessary, as the shows cannot be
run without your help. Also, each member who wishes to qualify for year-end awards is required to:
1.
Be a paid member in good standing.
2. Gather an outside sponsorship/s of $50.00 or more; or
3. Pay a $50.00sponsorship fee.
4. Attend at least 3 shows.
Becoming
a member is as easy as paying the yearly fee at any one of our horse shows.
Sponsorship forms are available
on-line and from the “office” at our shows. Members are encouraged to gather as many sponsorships as possible
as these sponsorship monies are what helps pay for awards. Sponsorships should be turned into a board member as soon as procured
to ensure the sponsor good use of his/her sponsorship donation.
If, electing to simply pay the sponsorship
fee, it must be submitted no later than the August show of the season (08/4/12).
Any sponsors wishing
to sponsor a specific show, individual class award, or “year-end” award for specific classes or events are welcome!
Volunteer time must be scheduled and completed by the last show of the season (09/09/12).
Please
refer the Show Dates above to schedule your volunteer time for your preferred date by calling the listed director
for that show.
Important: We understand things happen, but it is difficult to find help at the last
minute so consider carefully when scheduling your time. We need volunteers who show up, are on time, and stay until no longer
needed. If you cannot make your scheduled date, please let us know as soon as possible so another member can be assigned.
All board members give up at least one show to volunteer their time to run the shows and also are subject to
all other membership requirements.
Any show participants not adhering to these requirements will not be
eligible for year-end awards NO EXCEPTIONS.
